A former Supervisory Attorney in the Columbia Office of Disability  Adjudication & Review,  Mr. Smithson has 33 years' experience in the  field of Social Security disability, representing both the government and claimants in formal hearings before Administrative Law Judges and  federal magistrates in United States District Court.  He also has  three years' experience as a State DHHS Contract Hearing Officer  ruling on cases involving the issue of adult disability under the  Social Security Act.
